The Church2Church team consists of 4 core members. These members are highly experienced, and passionate about the vision of Church2Church.
Steve Cree
Steve is the Senior Pastor at Creek Road Presbyterian Church in Brisbane, and the CEO of Church2Church. Steve trained as a social worker in Sydney, before moving into full time ministry. His first post out of Moore Theological College was to plant a new church at East Lismore in Northern NSW. It was during this time that he experienced first-hand the challenge of finding ministry resources in a small and growing church.
Since joining Creek Road, he has worked to develop a multi-site ministry, spanning 3 campuses, and coming out of his experience in Lismore, he has developed a team preaching and partner church model that aims to help other pastors in their ministry. Church2Church is an extension of this work, allowing the development of a more holistic approach to helping ministers form healthy ministry.
Dave & Kathy Thurston
Kathy and Dave Thurston grew up at Epping Presbyterian Church together. They both became followers of Jesus in 1976; Kathy when she was fifteen and David when he was eighteen. They were married in 1982 while at Moore Theological College. They have three grown up children Lucy, married to Paul; James and Victoria.
Dave and Kathy have served in a variety of Presbyterian parish contexts; country NSW, and church planting in the Sydney suburbs and inner-city Sydney.
Over thirty-three years of gospel ministry they’ve been privileged to mentor over eighty persons in ministry throughout Australia. Kathy has been a member of the NSW Presbyterian Church Consultancy Team for twelve years.
They are committed to being used by the Lord to growing people who are spiritually, emotionally, relationally and theologically healthy in ministry so they in turn can be used by God to grow healthy ministry teams and churches.
Emily Andrews
Emily grew up in North Queensland attending small churches most of her childhood. She has studied a Bachelor of Social Science and has a background in Finance, Administration and Human Services. Emily joined the Creek Road staff team in 2015 and is passionate about seeing churches reach out to their communities. Emily has joined the Church2Church team to be involved in project management of each series created for Church2Church as well as assisting with the running of Church2Church.
